Back in the day my family were HUGE Jazz fans. Of course that was back when they had awesome players like Stockton and Malone. I remember watching the playoffs as a family and cheering our hearts out. We watched for years. Then I left home and I only watched the occasional game with my sister, who was a huge fan. In fact, I once dated this guy who was a fanatic, and she fed me Jazz information to make me look educated, ha :). Now that I'm married I haven't watched a game in years. Dale and I aren't exactly sports fanatics...though we did watch the Super Bowl this year- the first time in our entire married life :). But when our brother in law offered us free tickets to the Jazz game a couple of weeks ago we were so excited! We'd been talking about going to see a game. There's something about actually being there live :). They were pretty awesome tickets too- top of the lower bowl. Trey didn't really know what to think. He liked cheering and clapping, but that got old after awhile so he entertained himself by playing in the empty seats next to us and helping eat our triple decker ice cream cones. What a tough life for a 2 year old :). The Jazz lost, but it was a fun game!

Big Boy Stuff
Trey has officially been sleeping in a big boy bed for 2 weeks. Someone gave us some awesome advice when we were thinking about moving him awhile back. They said, "If he's not climbing out of his crib leave him in for as long as you can!" We did just that...the kiddo will be 3 in two months. We were actually planning on getting him a bed for his 3rd birthday, but then a lady in our ward asked us if we wanted one they were getting rid of. It couldn't have been better timing! The first three nights we laid in bed with him while he fell asleep. Then we just stopped, and he was fine. He did wake up crying twice in the middle of the night...the first time I found him laying in a heap in the middle of his bedroom floor. I think he got out of bed and it was too dark and scary for him, so he didn't know what to do. The 2nd time Dale found him squished between his bed and the crib. When I made his bed I forgot to move the crib back (we are keeping it up for Baby Cole) so Trey fell between and got crunched. Poor kid. He's been doing great for the last week though! It's still weird having him come wake me up when he gets up (He used to just yell, "Mommy, where are you!?" and then I'd go get him). The first few times it freaked me out. He's super quiet about it until he gets right by my head. Then he says, "Mommy! I awake!" Or something like that. It's crazy to think that he's not my little baby anymore. He's sure growing up fast!
Easter Weekend
We had so much fun with Trey Easter weekend. We decided to take him to the Riverton City Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. He had some amazing egg collecting skills. Of course, he was part of the older crowd for his age group (0-2) so it may have just been that the competition wasn't very stiff :). Then we hit up Jamba Juice (my lunch, Dale's mid morning snack) and visited Dale's parents. Trey has a love/hate relationship with their dog. He truly wants to play with her but he's also terrified of her. She gets too close and he freaks out. Funny to watch though :). Sunday we met up with Dale's family for a delicious Easter dinner. Trey loved running around with all his cousins. We've gotta watch that kid like a hawk or he'll take off on his own yelling,"Trey so fast!" He sure keeps us going! For Easter we gave him a new church outfit, which he really couldn't have cared less about. But he was SO EXCITED to see that he got some new Hot Wheels cars too. He yelled, "Cars!!!" and has played with them every day since :).
Check out his awesome basket :). We didn't actually get him a basket for his Easter stuff this year, so I didn't have one for him to gather his loot. Luckily I found this one in a cupboard.

This collecting stuff is serious business.
All done!
Waiting to eat his Jamba.

Only in Parowan!
Dale's favorite saying when he sees something you would only see in a small town is..."Only in Parowan!" Like when we saw an older couple driving in their golf cart down Main Street...or when the only grocery store in town closes at 8:00...or when we saw the car that was decked out with antlers and a red nose around Christmas :). Living in a small town definitely has its benefits. The last time I was in Parowan there was a huge snow storm while my mom and I were at the grocery store. We had to battle the insane snow to get to our car and were loading our groceries in the trunk when the store owner came out and scraped our windows for us. Then he proceeded to do the rest of the cars in the parking lot. You wouldn't see that in a big city, that's for sure :).
This weekend we drove down to Parowan to visit my family. We hit up beautiful sunny St. George while we were down south, and had dinner at Outback Steakhouse to celebrate my mom's birthday. On the way home we were probably a quarter mile from my parent's house when Dale made a slight stop at a stop sign...I wouldn't say he rolled through it, but it wasn't exactly a stop. Of course there was cop sitting in the dark right by us. He followed us to my parents and pulled us over. Then to add to the stress of most likely getting a ticket, we didn't have our current car insurance card with us either. Yay. The cop asked where we were headed, and I said, "Right here- we're visiting my parents." Miraculously the cop came back and just gave us a warning! I called my dad right after and asked if he knew the cop, because there was no way we should've gotten off! Parowan is one of those "everybody knows everybody" type of towns, so of course he did...only in Parowan :). I love small towns! :)
We didn't get many pictures...Trey just wanted to run around after sitting in the car for 5 1/2 hours. Can't say I blame him!

Spring Fever
I was looking through some pictures from our last trip to the park last fall...and it made me so anxious for Spring! Plus this amazing weather says Spring is in the air! Trey and I went to the park 3 times last week and didn't freeze :). Yay!!!

I have the 2 sweetest Valentines ever!
Dale and Trey are of course my sweet Valentines. I've kinda been super lame at Valentine's Day in the past, so I wanted to step it up a little and give my Valentines a nice breakfast. Of course, that did require getting up at 6:15 am to make breakfast for Dale before work. Totally worth it! Delicious homemade stuffed french toast with fresh strawberries, a semi-heart shaped egg, and amazing OJ...the breakfast of champions :).
Trey and I made heart shaped sugar cookies and delivered them to a few of our neighbors. Trey loves to "help" right now. I basically just let him pour everything into the bowl after I measure it out. It keeps him happy and makes him feel like the best helper in the world.
Dale brought me home a non-traditional valentine, but it was absolutely delicious. We have this fetish with the Marble Slab Creamery over by us at the District. Do not be deceived...it is not the same as Cold Stone. They have this amazing "Fudge Brownie Delight" that we get every time we go (which I'm not ashamed to admit is sometimes once a week :). The name says it all...Fudge...brownie...delight. It can't get much better. The only change we make is substituting the plain vanilla ice cream with sweet cream. Oh buddy :). Delicious! So when Dale brought me home a Fudge Brownie Delight for my valentine, you better believe I was thrilled :). I did share...a little.
That night we left Trey home with a babysitter and we headed off to Rodizio Grill in American Fork. The last time we went there was around 5 years ago, but we remembered their delicious grilled pineapple, which was ultimately why we chose this place. Luckily we got reservations, because those pour souls who didn't were looking at least an hour wait. When we left at 8:30 the enterance was still packed with people waiting to get a seat.
The amazing thing about this place is the fact that the meat just keeps coming...every 3 minutes or so you're approached by someone holding a massive skewer of succulent looking meat. Of course, this venue may not have been the best choice for us since we're not the biggest meat eating family out there...but they did have some good stuff. I do admit that we kept looking around to see if there were any grilled veggie skewers out there (that would've tickled our fancy for sure :)...but we settled for requesting more grilled pineapple. Wow. I haven't eaten that much in a long time :). I couldn't even hardly eat the chocolate cake they brought for dessert (shocking, I know). Dale polished that one off. Since it was Valentine's Day they even sent us home with some pretty red flowers. Aahhhh :)
Valentine's Day with my hubby and Trey bunny were awesome! Love those guys!

My cheesy Valentine to Dale :)

Ice Castle Fun
Ice Castle pictures started popping up all over Facebook a couple of weeks ago and we were super intrigued. We decided we needed to jump on the bandwagon and check these out! Glad we did- They were amazing! Most people said they loved it at night, but we went around 4 PM and were so glad we got to see them in the daytime. The colored lights at night were sorta fun, but they didn't do justice to the sheer amazingness of the ice itself. It was absolutely beautiful. Trey liked tromping around through the caves, and liked being in the snow, but he didn't love standing in line for the "slide". There was this slide everyone kept talking about...and the line was a good 25 minute wait. We thought this slide must surely be amazing if the line was so long. So we waited...and the kids cried...because it was kinda cold if you weren't really moving. It was finally our turn. To get to the slide you had to hike up this ice tunnel on your hands and knees and then slide down a tunnel of uneven lumpy ice mass until you landed in a small puddle at the bottom. What a thrill...ha! When you get to the bottom there's a crowd of people gawking down at you...I'm guessing they were waiting for family members to make their appearance. I don't know, I think that slide is one big lawsuit waiting to happen. Someone easily could've smacked their head while going down and gotten a concussion. Dale's parents were smart and steered clear of the slide. Other than that semi fun adventure, we loved the ice castles! Definitly worth the trip to Midway. We went and got some dinner after the slide, and then headed back to check the lights out at night. We were only in there for 5 minutes when we decided to leave. It was super crowded, and lights just didn't impress us much :).
Dale's dad was the king of picture taking...he got a bunch more that I don't have yet. It started to get drippy walking through the caves, and I didn't want my camera to get wet, so this is all I got. I'll have to post some more later :)
