He's Got Skills

Trey learned to hold his bottle!  Only for a few minutes though.  He just can't seem to get his hands to do what he wants!

Breakfast with Santa

Dale and I took Trey to visit Santa this year!  Dale's mom is in the Riverton Orchestra and they put on a delicious breakfast catered by Kneaders while they serenaded us with beautiful Christmas music.  Afterwards Santa visited and we got to have Trey sit on his lap.  He wasn't so sure about the beard at first...but after a lot of calling his name and making goofy faces, we got him to kind of look at the camera :).
In line to see Santa :)

This is kinda scary!

Chillin with daddy!

From the mouths of 7 year olds...

I had my kiddos at school write letters to soldiers for Veteran's Day.  I was going to mail them to my Dad and little bro while they were serving in Iraq, but they weren't able to receive mail by the time we had our letters ready because they were getting ready to come home.  Now they are HOME!!!  YAY!!!  So I'm super excited to deliver them in person.  I loved my kid's cute letters so much you get a little peak :).  Here's a few of my favs:

Dear Soldier,

Thank you for serving our country.  And thank you for fighting our country and my favorite color is purple.  And my favorite food is makronne and chesee.  Thank you.

Dear Soldier,

Do you drive a tank?  My favorite color is purple.  I am a boy.  I like unicorns.  Me and my friend love the army.  Do you like dirt biking?  I love to go dirt biking!

Army Lover (This is how he signed his letter :)

Dear Soldier,

Thank you for serving.  You are a nice soldier.  I like you.  You are the best soldier ever.  You are good.  You are the best guy in the world.  I wish you can stay alive forever because you are a good soldier.  And I like you soldier.  Why do they call you a solder and give me your phone number so I can call you.

Dear Soldier,

Thank you for serving our country.  Do you make your house?  Do you have any friends?  Do you know any girls?  Do you have pencils?

Dear Soldier,

Hi.  I will tell you about me.  I like animals.  My favorite animal is a lion cuz they are the king of the animals and my second favorite animal is a tiger cuz they have stripes.  Are you a boy or a girl?  I am a boy.  Thank you for helping us.  Good by.

The Joys of Rice Cereal

This post is a little late, but we got some pretty stellar pics, so I decided to post anyway!  Dale went to Trey's 4 month Dr. appointment, and was given the okay to start feeding him rice cereal.  We got a little overambitious and didn't exactly read the directions on the box well enough.  We made him an entire bowl of thick fluffy cereal.  We kind of blindsided the poor little guy with the texture.

Poor naive little Trey...he has no idea what's coming!
 First Bite
 Not loving the cereal
Really, Mom?  REALLY?!
 YUCK!!!
This picture is super blurry, but I love it anyway :)
 Please no more!

 All done

After this first traumatic experience, we started putting it in a bottle.  Then we had a much happier Trey!

Christmas Spirit

Dale and I have decided December at our house is going to be filled with the Christmas Spirit.  Naturally I just HAD to put up my tree 3 days before Thanksgiving, and let's be honest...I've been listening to Christmas music for months :).  I love the spirit this holiday brings.  This year I really want to focus on a Christ centered Christmas.  After all, He is the reason for the season.  To start off our Christ centered Christmas Dale and I took Trey on his first ever trip to see the lights at Temple Square.  We of course picked up our OH SO WONDERFUL hot cup of Caramel Apple Cider from Starbucks!  I thought it was delicious, Dale thought it was amazing.  Trey just drooled.  Next we walked through Temple Square and admired the amazing lights.  I thought they were beautiful, Dale thought they were incredible.  Trey just drooled.  Before leaving we visited the Nativity scene set up by the temple.  I loved it, Dale thought it was great, and Trey...well, he just drooled.  Not so sure Trey got much out of our trip, but Dale and I were incredibly overexcited about taking him.  Apparently everything is much more fun when you have a kid.  Even if all they do is drool :).

1st attempt at taking our own picture...

2nd Attempt

3rd attempt...didn't realize Trey's hat had fallen down :)

4th picture...taken by a kind stranger who was watching us struggle :)

The reason for the season!

A thankful heart

I have so much to be thankful for.  Most especially these two handsome boys :).  I love my boys!  I am so grateful Heavenly Father has allowed Dale and I to bring our sweet little Trey into our home.  He brings us more happiness than we knew was possible.  I am grateful for my sweet hubby too.  He is so much more than I ever imagined I'd find in a husband.  He's the epitome of charity, though he may not see it.  He has done so much to make life easy for me.  He works hard to make my burdens light.  I was so worried about going back to work after Trey was born.  I didn't want to do it.  And though it's still not ideal, I've never once worried that Trey wasn't being taken care of.  I've never had to think twice about leaving him with Dale.  He's the best daddy anyone could ask for.  Right now as I write I can hear him in the other room making Trey giggle like only Dale can :).  I'm so grateful for these sweet boys in my life!  What a blessing they both are!

Halloween Dinner

This year we decided it would be fun to do a Halloween dinner at our place.  Well, actually we ended up having 2 Halloween dinners at our place.  They were so fun to plan!  I used most of the same decorations for both dinners, so I've kinda mixed the pics, but here they are!

Of course our camera was out of batteries, so I had to steal most of these pics from my friend Jessi.

Dale was Pongo, Trey was Spot, and I was Cruella DeVil :)

Erin was Princess Peach, Brett was Luigi, and Blake was Yoshi.  I love it!  This pic. of them is super cute too :)

The Millers were the Little Red Riding Hood crew!  I love this idea!  Jessi was the grandma, Ryan the woodcutter, Gracie was Little Red Riding Hood (holding an ax of course :) and cute little Coby was the wolf!  Cute costumes!

 Pongo and Spot :)
