Peach Days

Peach days has been a tradition in our house since we got married...so yes, it's been a tradition for 2 years :).  It all started when we went camping with Dale's family at the KOA in Brigham City (my kind of camping :).  It also just happened to be peach season, and there were a million peach stands set up.  It was then we tasted our first Brigham City peach...and we were hooked.  Dale now practically counts down the days until Peach Days each year.  His mouth starts watering the week before, and by the time we leave he can hardly contain his excitement!  He even brings his own knife so he can start the feast right there in the parking lot of the fruit stand.  This year we invited our friends Jessi and Ryan Miller to come with us.  They didn't quite understand the Peach Days excitement...after all, they're only peaches, right?  1 hour & 1 ticket later (beware of the 65 MPH zones...) we arrived in Brigham City in Dale's Parents suburban (we NEEDED it to carry all of our precious cargo).

Fried Oroes...we had to try them

Eating the fried oreos and peach cobbler.

Enjoying the festivities...

Lovin the peach cobbler!

Dale was "patiently" waiting to go buy his peaches while we shopped

We walked around the booths and tasted the killer peach cobbler (delicious!)...and the Fried Oreos (Not our favorite), then it was time for Jessi and Ryan to experience their first Brigham City Peaches.  We drove to 4 different fruit stands...yes 4 (we were not willing to pay $25 a box), to find the perfect price.  Ryan and Jessi were probably beginning to think we were crazy.  When we finally made our purchase Dale whipped out his knife and prepared a delectable peach for the Millers to try...and then they were hooked too.  Now they're wishing they'd bought more!

The reason for the trip...our "precious cargo"

We went to dinner at Maddox (yummy) afterwards and then headed home.  We're not sure what makes these peaches so delicious, but they are definitely worth the drive...and even the ticket (don't tell Dale :).

I'm sad we missed it! Next year, we will have to make sure we have work off, it looks like it was a lot of fun!
